- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped dried apples or apple chips
- 1/2 cup festive colored candies or sprinkles
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt butter with caramel bits and milk until smooth, about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.
- Stir in vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour caramel mixture over rice cereal in a large mixing bowl, stirring gently to coat evenly.
- Add chopped dried apples, candies, and nuts, mixing gently.
- Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let cool until caramel is set.
- Break into chunks and serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Use microwave or stovetop to melt caramel. Adjust sweetness with more or less caramel / candies.
