  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, chili powder, cinnamon, salt, garlic, and ginger. Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Place marinated chicken into slow cooker. Add tomato sauce and butter.
  3. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours until chicken is tender.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
