- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, warm the milk and dissolve yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add pumpkin, melted butter, vanilla, and the yeast mixture. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, Cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into a rectangle.
- Spread with additional melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, then roll tightly.
- Cut into 12 slices and place on a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk to make icing. Drizzle over warm rolls and serve.
Notes
- You can prepare the rolls a day in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
- Ensure the dough is kneaded well for a soft texture.
