Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until smooth and thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cheeses until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Mix cheese sauce with cooked macaroni. Pour into a greased baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and additional cheese if desired.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
