- 6 cups sliced and peeled apples (such as Fuji or Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Spread evenly in the dish.
- In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until bubbling and golden on top. Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping.
- Best served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
