- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until boiling. Let boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour caramel evenly over crackers and bake for 8-10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set. Break into pieces and serve.
